Craig Bell, RSPA Master Professional has recently retired as Director of Racquet Sports at Bent Tree Country Club in Dallas, Texas after serving in this position for 27 1/2 years. Craig has served as the Director of Tennis at some of the finest clubs in Texas as he has been employed at The University Club, Dallas and Oak Hills Country Club in San Antonio.
Along his racquet sports journey of fifty years, Craig has played high school, college and professional tennis. Craig started teaching tennis in 1984 and has enjoyed instructing players of all skill levels with many of his players competing in local, regional and national tournaments.
Craig has volunteered his time for a number of organizations serving in several capacities from Secretary to President with the San Antonio Tennis Professional Association, Dallas Professional Tennis Association, Dallas Tennis Association, RSPA Texas Division, RSPA Texas Section and RSPA Executive Committee.
For his efforts, Craig has received numerous accolades as he has been Dallas Tennis Professional of the Year, RSPA Texas Proud Recipient, RSPA Texas Tennis Professional of the Year (2 times) and was inducted into the Tut Bartzen Tennis Hall of Fame.
He is a 6th generation member of the Chickasaw Indian Nation with his relatives being enrolled on the original Dawes Tribal Rolls in the early 1900’s and his 5th Great Grandfather being Levi Colbert was Chief of the Chickasaw Nation in the 1820’s to 1834 until the time of his death.
Craig's greatest accomplishment is being married since August, 1983 to his wife Cindy whom he met while playing collegiate tennis in Utah. Craig and Cindy have four children - three daughters and one son, who has followed dad as a racquet sports professional in Houston, Texas. Craig has really enjoyed the racquet sports industry and is appreciative of all the benefits it has afforded him on and off the court.
